About Cornerstone
Providing trauma informed training about sexual violence. Why does Cornerstone exist?Sexual violence is increasing. Women are disproportionately effected by this, yet are often the ones blamed for it. We want to shift the victim blaming narrative and debunk myths around sexual violence in order to create a more supportive and truama informed environment for survivors. We want to do this by:
Educating teachers, industry professionals and corporate partners about sexual violence.
Challenging narratives such as “it’s just banter” or "boys will be boys".
Unpicking the wider systems that shape our perceptions.
Helping organisations to embed best practice.
Creating greater awareness of the psychological responses that occur due to trauma, which are often mislabelled as “promiscuous”, “disruptive”, “withdrawn”.
